GE Energy to Provide LM6000-PC Sprint for Organized Industrial Zone in TurkeyContract includes 14-year CSAHOUSTON, TEXAS (March 18, 2005) — GE Energy will provide an LM6000-PC Sprint aeroderivative gas turbine to Cerkezkoy Enerji Elektrik Uretim A.S., located in the OSB (organized industrial zone) of Cerkezkoy, Turkey. A 14-year contractual service agreement for maintenance is included with the contract.The gas turbine will be used for cogeneration and will produce approximately 48 megawatts of electrical power and 60 tons per hour of process steam to feed the industrial users, mainly textile factories within the Cerkezkoy industrial zone. The plant will run parallel to the 154 kV Turkish electricity transmission authority's (TEIAS) grid system. The plant will be the largest and most efficient cogeneration facility in Turkey and deliver power to the industrial users at a 20% reduced rate."Our proven technology and quality service will allow Cerkezkoy Enerji to provide more efficient and reliable power to all of the companies within the industrial area that depend on them," said Rick Stewart, president of GE Energy's aeroderivative division.The LM6000-PC Sprint gas turbine is scheduled to ship in June 2005 and be put into commercial operation in December 2005.
